For the Love of Baseball
I am Jackson Waters and I have been working hard at becoming the best baseball player I can be for as long as I can remember. I am looking for a great opportunity at the collegiate level to continue to play and work at baseball, while I pursue my education at a great academic college or university.
I would be a great fit with any team because I am always looking to improve my game, be a better player, and I enjoy being part of a team. I like to support my teammates and build on our strengths. Most importantly, I love working at baseball: I love hitting, fielding, playing the game, doing drills, practicing, figuring out how to best work with my teammates. I like to keep myself fit and healthy so I can play the best I can. Having a college baseball team to play for would be like a home away from home.
This year I’ve been the starting 1st baseman with my tournament/travel team ClubhouseCT and with my HS baseball team. I have been very reliable, with only the rarest error. I love this position because it gets so much action. My exit velocity for hitting has ranged 85-97 and this year I’ve hit home runs, several triples and doubles, many singles, stolen lots of bases, made lots of RBI’s and runs. I have earned the All Tournament Hitter title with Perfect Game two years in a row.
I would be a great fit at a selective college or university. I am a well rounded athlete. Not only do I play baseball, but I competitively swim, dive, mountain bike, do cyclocross, and ski downhill and freestyle. I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at Brien McMahon HS. I play the alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone. Most recently I have played the baritone sax with my high school jazz band, marching band, and concert band. I’ve won awards for playing the baritone: selected to play at Western Regionals Jazz Band, won third place in the national Gerry Mulligan’s Jazz Competition, and awarded Best Baritone Sax x 2 years. I’m also in the National Honor Society, the Business Club, and volunteer with the Rowayton Civic Association and Senators Helping Seniors.
You should consider me not just for the stats that you can see here on my recruiting page, but for the future baseball player, community member, and academic that I will become at your institution. I will give baseball, the college community, and academics my all.
