If asked for a brief description of myself, I would have to say that I'm very passionate and dedicated when taking on tasks, whether it's personal, school work or on the diamond. I take great pride in being a dependable teammate on the job or on the field. I have developed (and continue to do so) as a leader on the baseball field which has translated to confidence off the field as well. This allows me to approach new challenges/opportunities head-on with great expectations both on and off the field.
Off the diamond, I have taken the mindset of hard work that baseball has given me to both the classroom, my trade (electrical, I'm fortunate enough to attend a high school that allows me to learn a trade) and on the job site. I also feel that baseball has given me so much, that I volunteer as an umpire for my local little league where I played for years.
Baseball has taught me over the years the value in being a dependable teammate (more than just performance). This lesson has been very valuable to me off the field as well. I take this lesson with me into the classroom, my trade and job.
It would be easy to say I fell in love with the game of baseball from the first time I stepped onto a T-Ball field at the age of 4. However, the truth is that the love of the game was probably instilled into me at birth, given my dad's passion for the game.
What do I want to get out of college? There are two answers. My primary objective is to push myself in the classroom to allow me to be successful at the end of my baseball career, whenever that maybe (hopefully later than sooner). From a young age my parents have instilled in me that there is no baseball without Education. Secondly, I would love to continue to be able to play the game I love so much. To be able to be a dependable teammate at the college level has long been a goal for me.
