Taylor Fuqua '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taylor Fuqua. I am a senior at Ballard High School; Class of 2024.  I play for Ballard Varsity Field Hockey and Travel Team Club IFHCK. I started playing field hockey in the third grade.  I'm a utility player, focusing primarily on all midfield positions year round for all teams; however, I have experience playing any other position needed. My freshman year I was one of two freshman that made the varsity team as we made the state semi-finals.

Academics are very important to me, as of now I have a 3.8 GPA and am in advanced program classes with an A/B average. I am in my second year of my Biomedical Science elective. Year 2021 was the first year that Ballard introduced this elective, and I was selected for the program. My career goal is to be a veterinarian. So, I am excited to gain education and experience in the veterinary field!

My goal is to play field hockey while studying to be a veterinarian in the medical field. I am considered to be one of the most positive teammates on my teams or as a person in general.  I am a hard worker and very coachable. Whenever I have off days from practice or school you can find me practicing or working out to condition myself for field hockey.  I love the sport of field hockey!  It has continued to push me as a player and as a student-athlete.  It also allows me to connect with my other teammates, creating the best possible atmosphere that you want when you play.  As I play, I continuously want to grow in this sport and learn everything I can.  I desire to play in college with a culture of family and growth that challenges everyone to be the best versions of themselves.  I look forward to seeing what will happen in my journey with field hockey and education!
