Personal Statement

Playing football has been my favorite thing to do ever since I started playing on the school playground. The most fun you can have is when you’re running away from people and making a big play. I am the hardest working player you will ever meet, and I am dedicated and committed to play further at the next level.

I work hard in the classroom, too. I got all As my sophomore year and I took 2 AP classes as a junior. I have been an honor student since freshman year and have a 3.8 GPA. I know grades are very important for me to play football in college and I will keep them up as I study and continue to play.

I love everything about football like playing it, working out to be better and stronger so I can completely destroy someone.  I love spending time with my teammates in the locker room, on busses, and off the field.

  • To Whom It May Concern, It is with great pleasure that I write a letter of recommendation for Leo Matsuoka. Leo exemplifies all the qualities and intangibles that any future college coach looks for in a student-athlete. I have been fortunate to be the performance coach for Leo for the past 2 years. In all of my dealings, Leo has shown to be a young man of hardwork, devotion, and talent. Leo is one of the hardest working student-athletes that I have worked in my past 5 years of coaching. His devotion to being the best athlete on and off the field exemplifies his hard work. Leo is constantly studying film to increase his knowledge of the game of football. From watching previous high school games to studying the performance of other professional athletes he is always mentally training himself on ways to improve techniques and tactics to utilize on the field. His IQ of the game of football and his position as a receiver is well-versed. Along with that, he devotes 5 days out of the week to his training on the field and in the weight room, even during the pandemic. Leo is always striving to be the best player in the room. Over the past year and a half his development in the weight room with me has increased dramatically. From lifting heavier, increasing his speed, to excelling in plyometrics and agility has helped him earn a varsity position on his high school football team since his sophomore year. I strongly believe that Leo Matsuoka will be an asset to any program. He will figure out what he has to do to be successful and then he will go about getting it done. He will combine his God given talent, his great desire to excel, and his work ethic to be the best athlete for you. It is without hesitation that I recommend Leo to any college of his choosing. Sincerely, Cassius Pierce Cassius Pierce Sports Performance Coach (310) 256-7971 [email protected]
