Personal Statement

Randy Fischer

I led my JV team in tackles my freshman year and was moved up to Varsity for the playoffs. As a starter, I led the Varsity team in tackles in my Sophomore year with 97.5.  I was awarded the Unsung Hero Award given by my team and was voted Second Team All County by the coaches in Anne Arundel County.  In my Junior season, I led the Varsity team in tackles with 95 (9 games).  I was voted Defensive MVP and was also voted First Team All County. My coach said in his 14 years of coaching high school football, I was the first Junior to receive the Defensive MVP award.

Senior Year

I have been chosen for the 2013-2014 Super 22 team by The Maryland Touchdown Club.

My Coach has selected me as team captain for my Senior year.

I have been working out hard bulking up for my Senior season. I am a team leader that can cover sideline to sideline.  I bring the same intensity to the practice field as to the games and I have a strong work ethic (practice, weight training, etc.).

I am not too concerned about the geographical location of where I would go to school, but it would be nice to stay on the East Coast to be closer to home and for family to attend games.  I am open to schools of any size, and would like to go to a school with a good academic reputation.  Getting a good a education is VERY important to me.  I am undecided on what I would like to study.

I would love to play day one, and I know I could compete at any level of competition, be it D-1, D-1 AA, or D-2 level.  My goal is to play at a competitive college, be an impact player, and earn a college degree.

Senior Season Notes

You can see highlights of my senior year at  http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/595109/highlights/randy fischer .

I led my team in tackles in my senior year with 104.  My coach said I set a varsity school record with 296 tackles [ 10th, 11th, 12th].

I was chosen Team MVP, and voted First Team All County, by county coaches.  I was chosen First Team Defense, All Metro, by the Baltimore Sun and Second Team Defense, All Metro by the Washington Post.  I was selected as First Team Defense, All State, by the Maryland Football History web site (Maryland High School Football Reference), and chosen to play in the 18th Annual Baltimore Touchdown Club Senior All-Star Game.  I will be playing for the Baltimore Team versus the Metro Team.  The game is scheduled for 1:00pm on December 14, 2013 at Archbishop Spalding High School, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
