My name is Matthew Watterson. I have just completed my sophomore year in high school. My GPA is 3.7. My dream is to play college football at the most competitive level that I can. I have been playing football since the age of 5. Growing up, I attended many football camps, including Offense/Defense Camp. Because of my performances at these camps, I was invited 6 times to attend their Youth-All American Bowls, which were held in many different southern states during Christmas week.
My freshman year of high school, I started at wide receiver and safety. On special teams, I was kick and punt returner and gunner. My sophomore year, the coaches moved me to ROLB/Edge. Although our season was only 5 games due to Covid-19, my best performance of the season I had over 20 tackles, including 2 sacks. I was moved up to Varsity for their playoffs.
I have been working out 6 days a week since I started high school. I am working with a strength and agility trainer at the field and I plan on attending several college showcases over the summer before I start my Varsity season.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the football field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I have the personal drive, integrity and determination to succeed on the field, as well as in the classroom. I want to compete at the next level and will do whatever it takes to accomplish that.
