I have a goal to graduate from high school with an advanced diploma and get into a great collegiate program. I am a good candidate for any college because I always give all of my effort no matter if it is in the classroom, on the field, in the weight room, at work, or at home. I strive to be or do the best I can in every aspect of my life no matter what the situation. I am different from other recruits in that I care about my grades just as much as my athletics, and work just as hard if not harder keeping up with both academics as well as athletics.
Coming from a high school that goes to the state competition level of almost every sport except football is very humbling. I have to work a lot harder than that of my competitors from other schools in my division because my school is not a team with the most wins, however, when it comes to character and morals, we play tough every Friday night! Win or lose, we play a good game and I have learned a lot about humility and strength. It's easy to keep your head held high when you win, everyone wants to win and winning is a lot of fun, I won a lot of games as a pitcher in rec league baseball and I had a lot of fun. I have fond memories from those days but football, that is where my character was built, that is where I learned about leadership, humility and the team effort. I watched the players above me and I listened to my coaches. I became a team player willing to be coached and a leader/mentor for others to look up to. I can't lie, my success has not come without sacrifice, a lot of hours in the weight room and on the field as well as a few late nights studying to keep my parents as well as myself satisfied with my GPA, see, in my house the standards are higher than state requirements for me to play sports, or drive a car and I respect that, I respect having high standards, they keep me in check.
When I am not in class, on the field or in the weight room, you can find me somewhere with a fishing pole in my hand near a great fishing spot, or, if the season is right, I am in a stand in the woods, waiting for a shot at a great 8 pointer. Occasionally, I humor my 10 year old little brother and play some Minecraft or something he loves on the Playstation. I keep my room clean and help my parents in any way I can. I am starting my first job next week, trying to learn about finding a balance in my life and I cannot wait to see what my future has in store for me after high school, in college!
