First and foremost, my parents are the most influential people in my life. My father is a hard worker who provides for our family. My mom is deaf-blind, her disabilities have taught me the good, the bad, the ugly and the beauty life has to offer. Which in turn has taught me diversity, adaptability, and empathy living with my parents. My mom has taught me that any obstacle in my way is an obstacle to overcome. These are lessons for a lifetime.
According to my parents I was a football fanatic since day one. I have a natural instinct and love for the game. Football will be a part of me forever, one way or another.
My overall goal is to obtain a degree in Math/statisics. My parents have always taught me to have backup plans to my backup plans.
My first 3 years of High School have been anything but usual, having to overcome a great deal of adversity during a COVID-19 pandemic. I have had to learn adaptability, coping mechanisms, change in schedules, virtual schooling, alternate football season and overall academic and athletic growth.
Although my grade point average has changed during the pandemic, I have learned how to organize my time, communicate with teachers and motivate myself to do the work that needs to be done. I have been able to keep a 3.5 GPA or higher. We also had a postponed football season to the Spring. The difficulty during the pandemic has taught me that those obstacles are a testament to my ability to grow and only get stronger. That is what I am taking from the last 2 years of football.
Football is my passion and drive. Our school has had some of the hardest challenges for our program. I have learned to take these challenges and grow. I have learned to work on myself; joined a training program, hired a personal coach and re-aligned my goals. Going into my senior year we will have yet another new head coach, so my future will depend on my own self-motivation and grind. I want to be a part of a team and family of football. A group that can grow from criticism and wants nothing but the best for each other. Have a mental and physical grind that will motivate wins.
This film, shows my perseverance for the game, because while I was overcoming an injury and other program setbacks, I came back and showed them all what I have to offer. Check out this film of our last game: https://www.hudl.com/profile/12326192/Tyler-Everson
I promise to give you all of me, my passion, drive and dedication to your football program. I have a huge heart and lead this team by not only by leading by example but supporting the team as a whole. I am extremely excited for what the next chapters will bring and I hope it’s with you!
