Personal Statement

I'm Ryan Switzer. I am a 5'10, 173 lb running back/slot/cornerback from Charleston, West Virginia. Although I am listed as a running back, I can play multiple positions, such as slot, kick/punt return man, cornerback, and safety. I also handle the kicking and punting for my team. Football is very important to me, I've been playing since I've been in the 5th grade.  I was the starting PG on the 2011 State Champion basketball team. In 2010 I finished 5th in the state in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.1 and 6th in the long jump at 20'6". I was the lead man on the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 teams that won state championships. In 2010 I led our team in receiving, ypc and scored 12 TDs - receiving, rushing and return combined. I averaged over 110 yards all purpose yards per game for the #1 ranked team in WV. I literally never left the field as I started on offense, defense and handled the kicking duties. I also avg 40 yards per punt and only had 5 punts returned all year. It has always been not only a dream, but a goal to play high-level collegiate football. I am willing to commit to any college in the country, that puts faith in me with a scholarship. My athletic goals for my college career, aren't different from many others. Playing significant minutes as a freshman is 50/50. I want is to be a big part in helping my team win. I want to play somewhere that wins, and where the best players play, so that I will always have a chance to prove myself. Football is something I'd love to do past the college level, if I make the opportunity, but if not, that's why I maintain a 3.8 GPA at one of the top academic schools in the state of West Virginia. If however, I'm fortunate enough to play past the collegiate level, I believe I would make a great return specialist and 3rd down back. I hope this helped you understand a little bit more about who I am. Thank you. -Ryan Switzer

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
