A very important part of my life is school, I compete in the classroom. Some of the many academic goals I have for high school is to graduate with at least a 3.7 GPA, graduate as part of the Magna Cum Laude, and have a big impact in an extra curriculum activity other than Basketball such as Key Club. As for college, I'm striving to earn a degree in law, and similar to High School, keep my grades high and graduating with at least a 3.7 GPA. My mom has influenced me in so much in my life, she has taught me how to work hard, stay positive, and with everything I do, do it with character.
I fell in love with basketball after I moved from Puerto Rico to Florida in the 6th grade, my mom made the decision to move so me and my brother could get a better education and have a better life. When I started playing basketball in Florida a lot of people said I have a lot of potential to be great in the sport, and that just made me work harder to be the best. Playing basketball has opened a lot of opportunities for me so far, Basketball has taught me how to be determined to some goals I have on and off the court and to be competitive in everything I do to strive to be the best. It has also showed me that I am a leader and that a lot of people look up to the decisions I make and it has taught me to be disciplined in general.
When I'm in the game I always make sure to communicate on the offensive end as well as in the defensive end. On offense I can control the game by controlling the tempo and setting my teammates up for easy points but I am most effective scoring the ball by attacking the basket, shooting off-the dribble, and running the pick and roll and reacting to what the defense gives me. I also take pride in my defense, I make sure to talk at all times so our chances of getting a stop are higher than without communicating on the defensive end.
