For the past several years, John Lucas Enterprises has assembled the top high school players who will be playing again next spring/summer. Scouts and recruiting analyst use it as a head start to identify the top up and coming talent that we have already known about for 3-4 years. The camp is invite only and there is no qualifier camp for this, reputations earned at the International Middle School Combine (IMSC) and through play in AAU and high school basketball as judged by our staff and support staff. We are now using it as a proving ground for the NBPA Top 100 camp for the underclassmen to see where they are in comparison to the rising seniors. The Midwest Invitational has been called the premier event of the fall by many scouts and a do not miss for those looking to compete against the best in front of those who count most.

The 10th Annual Metro Indy Basketball Fall League starts Sunday, October 2, 2016 and runs through each Sunday until October 30, 2016. High school practice starts eight days later, Monday, November 7, 2016.

NYBL Elite Showcase And All-Star Weekend

This prestigious event is scheduled for September 10th and 11th at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. For the fourth straight year, the event will be held in conjunction with the NYBL Elite Showcase. The weekend's festivities will include a ceremony for the league champions, presentation of "Coach of the Year" awards, and all-star games in all divisions. Selection to the all-star games will be based on overall performance during the course of the 4 NYBL sessions and All-Star Weekend Although not every player will be selected for one the all-star games, every kid in the league is invited to participate in the Elite showcase. As part of the showcase, every player registered for the event will be assigned a team. Each team will play 4 games, during which, players will be evaluated and ranked for possible participation in the final all-star games on Sunday afternoon. The media attention generated by the event will be significant, as many of the top middle school scouting services will be in attendance, including: Middle School Hoops, City League Hoops, Lineage of Champions Hoops report and several other media outlets. Also, the top players from this showcase may receive automatic invitations to the Junior All-American Camp, John Lucas Camps, CP3 Camps and other elite events

The 4th annual CrossRoads Elite Invitational will be held June 3-5, 2016 in Indianapolis, IN at Plainfield High School’s beautiful 6 court basketball field house. The camp features the nations best rising high school freshmen (C/O 2020) and sophomores (C/O 2019).The invite-only camp, which has housed some of the games brightest stars, features the nations best rising high school freshmen and rising high school sophomores. Only 110 prospects from the class of 2019 and 80 prospects from the class of 2020 are selected to attend. A stage unlike any other, the CREI gives underclassmen the chance to develop and compete in front of some of grassroots basketball’s most influential people. ESPN.com’s John Stovall had this to say about the event in a 2014 recap, “Adam Shoulders (Camp President) and Kurt Stubbs (Camp VP) do a great job of accruing talent from across the United States in order to make this a top-flight event.” This years camp will be bigger and better than ever with USA basketball’s Don Showalter returning for a third consecutive year as the camp’s lead clinician on day 1 and day 2. Showalter is a 7-time gold medalist and head coach of the USA basketball U17 national team. Showalter has earned at least a share of the past six USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year honors and owns an undefeated record at the helm of the USA Basketball U16 and U17 national teams. Campers are in for a treat working with one of America’s best teachers on and off the court. Working alongside Coach Showalter at the camp will be ESPNs national director of recruiting and former long time division one assistant & head coach Paul Biancardi. He will be in attendance throughout the 3 days of camp. Biancardi serves as ESPNs lead analyst on all nationally televised high school games and is a voting member for high school basketball’s Gatorade POY, Naismith POY and the prestigious McDonald’s All American game. He also serves as a college analyst for ESPN & ESPNU. Biancardi’s coaching success includes appearances in the Final Four and Elite Eight and winning the Big East and Big Ten championships. With his combination of coaching experience at the highest level in college and scouting high profile grassroots basketball, Biancardi is the leader among the talent evaluators in the game today. Also selected to the camp clinic staff is camp co-director and professional basketball trainer Terry Drake (http://www.terrydrakebasketball.com). One of the nation’s best trainers, Coach Drake is the engine that drives CrossRoads Elite to be one of the best places to learn the game and hear the hard truth.

Under Armour Next Combine Series

This April, Under Armour Basketball will introduce the “UA Next Combine Series” for select middle school basketball players. The Combine Series is an invite only program that will offer eighth graders high-level teaching, instruction and competition. The program will run for a full day in each of the following six cities nationwide, including: Washington, D.C., Columbus, Ohio, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston and Walnut Creek, California. The “UA Next Combine Series” is for current eighth grade players (Class of 2020) and 40 total players will be selected at each location. Players will compete for invitations to the prestigious “UA Next Experience” at the Under Armour Elite 24 this August in New York City. Under Armour’s Elite 24 event is the nation’s premier annual high school basketball showcase that offers the world’s top prospects an opportunity to experience the energy and spirit of authentic playground basketball, while competing on the biggest stage of the summer. “UA Next Combine Series” is the latest program from Under Armour’s Grassroots Basketball platform. It joins ongoing nationwide events, including the UA Association League, NBPA Top 100 Camp, SC30 Select Camp, UA All American Camp and the UA Elite 24. It is the purpose of these events to provide youth basketball players with the opportunity to hone their skills and maximize exposure in high-level teaching and competitive environments. The platform aligns with Under Armour’s mission to “Make All Athletes Better.”
