Personal Statement

My name is Daniel Meyer and I have just finished my Senior Basketball Season at Billings Central Catholic High School in Billings, Montana. Our team finished 2nd at State and our team's overall record for the year was 16-7. I averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game for the entire season.  I have now grown to 6'9 and  220 lbs and I am constantly working on my all-around game to be able to play the 4 or 5 position in college. I am currently working very hard on my perimeter game and  I have been told  that I run rim to rim very well in the transition game. I was selected First Team All-Conference, All-State, Academic All-State and voted to play in the annual Montana versus Wyoming All-Star game. I was also a finalist for the Montana Gatorade Player of the Year. I will be playing for the Colorado Chaos 17's Elite from Denver, Co this Spring and Summer. I was also nominated by Senator Max Baucus to attend the USAFA, USMA, and the USMMA. I currently hold a 3.6 GPA, and my goal is to continuously be on the Honor Roll. My school has a tough academic course that is preparing me for institutions that have high academic expectations. I am enrolled to attend Quakerdale Prep in New Providence, Iowa this September, 2013 and I am reclassifying to become a 2014 recruit. I will be playing basketball for the Quakerdale Eagles this Season for Coach Brad Matney. My goals are to play basketball in college at the highest level possible,  as well as obtaining an advanced degree.  I do not think I have even come close to peaking physically or athletically as a basketball player.  I enjoy working hard and being a team player.
