Marcus Swedberg '12 Recruiting Profile

As I finish my junior year, I have one more summer and season to make the most of my high school basketball career.  I was fortunate to have gotten off to a great start my freshmen year, playing with a group of talented seniors.  As a starter, I helped to solidify the line-up and help guide our team to a championship season.  Over the past two seasons, I've averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds a game, plus tallied 109 blocks.  I stand at 6'8" and weigh around 220 pounds.  This past winter, I helped guide our team to a 19-2 record and a Final Four appearance while also being chosen as a First Team All-State and All-Conference performer.

Academically, I have always achieved honors or high honors in school.  I was inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore and work closely with the organization in community service such as blood drives and soup kitchens.  I've also been working with our school district as a mentor to a special elementary student over the past two years.

I hope to be able to balance my academics while playing basketball in college.  I enjoy and do well in math and science, but I am also interested in the sports management field.
