As a student athlete, I believe in giving everything I have both in the classroom and on the court. I consistently work hard to be and give my best. My love of basketball began while watching games with my dad. I found I loved playing the game even more than watching. When I tried out for the “A” team in 5th grade and didn’t make it, instead of complaining, I focused on getting better so next year I would make the team. I achieved that goal and decided I would never miss making the team again. I worked hard each and every year. Going into Elder high school, I came from a small grade school and was not known by the coaches. I had tough competition in order to make the team. However, I did make it, but I was a third-string player. While this was difficult, it taught me the importance of patience and hard work to earn playing time. By the end of the season, I had significantly increased my playing time and was a starter on JV the next year. While playing Varsity my junior year, I sat behind strong players again and my focus was on preparing my team for the next game. We achieved the Sectional Championship together. I pride myself on being a strong team-player, never focusing on me as an individual. I am a competitive person, mostly with myself to get better and stronger every day. I am goal-oriented, which has helped me to maintain my strong GPA, and will drive me to success both in the college classroom, on the court, and eventually in my chosen profession. I can provide your team with a unique quickness of a big man who can make offensive plays and be back down the court to defend the next possession. I am looking forward to finding the college where I can offer my best for your team.
