Playing basketball at the next level has always been a dream of mine since I was growing up. Whether that was making the 8th-grade team after my 7th-grade year or varsity after my first two years of high school, I am always trying to go one step further. Not only do I apply this with basketball, but in school as well. I am challenging myself in the classroom in order to be one of the top in my class and taking the most advanced courses I can. St. Edward has given me the opportunity to play great competition on the court and excel with my academics.
I know that everyone in high school wants to play at the next level but I feel like my motives are different. I am not only playing for myself but my family and team as well. I would be the first person with my last name to go to college and the first college athlete too. My family wants me to succeed and I do not plan on letting them down. I am willing to make sacrifices for my team to ensure a win. If that means a little less playing time or not being the one to always make the right play, then I have no problem with that. I am set on doing whatever it takes to make it to the next level so that I can set an example for my family to follow and so my team knows how hard I will play to get there.
