Throughout my life I have always experienced set backs. These setbacks however, never stopped me from achieving my goal. I have time and time again became the person I am willing to be. In my freshman year(Rockville HS), I was cut from the team. Many people would say "ah, I guess I'm not good enough" and just quit. Instead, I woke up early in the morning and stayed late at night at the gym to improve myself. I set goals for myself to be better. Be better than my friends, be better than the people at the gym, but most importantly be better than myself yesterday. I used this mindset and made my JV team at a new school (Brookfield Central HS). I continued my same mentality and made the Varsity at that school in my Junior year. We ended up being the #1 team in the state and #36 in the nation (according to MaxPreps). My high school basketball journey was filled with achievements like getting offered to tryout for an overseas team. I not only succeed on the basketball court, but also in the classroom. I currently have a 4.02 GPA and ranked 201 out of 797 in my class in regards to my GPA. This was no easy task because the school I attend (Bellaire HS) is ranked 148th out of 3,240 school in the state of Texas academically.
With all this information about myself, you might be wondering why I am the best fit for your team. Well the short answer is that I'm a hardworking individual. Every college recruit has probably heard that before, but for me I have been put in so many daunting circumstances and came out standing tall. The obstacles like moving schools every couple years and not being seen as "good enough" are what make me the person and player I am today.
