Hello Coach,
My name is Trajan Snell and I am eager and have a great desire to play college basketball. Being a college athlete is important to me. But more than that, having the opportunity to attend college would be a dream come true. Playing college basketball and being a college athlete would put "The Icing on the Cake."
What makes me a good recruit for any team is also the thing that sets me apart. On the court I believe I bring a variety of things to the game. I am a willing passer. I love to share to the ball. I feel that I am a good teammate, therefore I am unselfish and will put my team before myself. I really love this game and I spend time trying to learn everything about it I can. I've been told I have a high basketball IQ. I would guess that is a good thing. My dad being a coach may have something to do with that. I would watch film with him and ask questions all the time and still do, which speaks to my willingness to get better.
My dad stresses to me and all the teams he has coached the importance of character/integrity and academics. It is something that is discussed daily. It is very difficult to get into college if you do not take your grades seriously and coaches will not want to spend time with a young man with bad character. He (my dad) wants us to be good responsible young men and productive citizens. So with that being said I am a big believer in strong character and taking care of business in the class room. I am currently in several AP classes (Geometry and English) and also taking Spanish. I will continue to take AP classes throughout my high school academic career.
As far as goals are concerned, my dream job would be to work for ESPN as a sports broadcaster, so I would like to major in Broadcast Journalism. I realize that my work ethic, character and academic success will have everything to do with me achieving my goals of attending college and being a college athlete. Taking a chance on Trajan Snell will be worth it. This is one of my favorite bible verses: "And Jesus looked upon them saying, 'With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.'" - Mark 10:27
I believe it's possible!
Thanks for your time,
Trajan Snell-Waco Connally High School-Class of 2018
