Personal Statement

Ever since I was a kid I found a passion and love for golf. I grew up playing and learning from my father. I have been dedicated through practice and determination in hopes of fulfilling my dream of playing college golf. I am a very hard worker and every day I strive to work on my weaknesses and celebrate my successes. I am a good student by turning in assignments always on time, study hard and respectful to my teachers and peers. I find that it is important to be supportive of my teammates by always finding a way to hang out with them to connect with them as a friend first and a teammate. I feel strongly that a teammate should cheer on each other, no matter what circumstances. I will be an excellent member of your team because I am determined to be successful as a student, athlete and teammate.

I was was suffering from extreme fatigue and was +9 after 10 holes but played the remaining holes -2. I missed qualifying by two strokes but was very proud of how I fought back, especially while several other good players "No Carded". This is a very tough tournament and the field is always very good. First day I started off very poorly and ended up finishing with a 79 (+7). Wind was a big factor as it was blowing 25-35 mph the entire tournament. The next day I played poorly and matched my first round score. The morning of the final round I woke up feeling extremely lethargic and under the weather. I decided to tee it up anyway and struggled the entire day. I was so "out of it" I don't even remember playing the 18th hole but was determined not to "No Card". I tested positive for COVID-19 three days later. Shot 75-73 in the 17 yo age group. I finished T16 in an extremely strong field in winds +25 mph.
