I am looking forward to playing competitive college hockey while pursuing an Engineering degree. I work for my father’s engineering company off-season and eagerly look forward to earning my degree so I can build my own rewarding career in this field.
I was raised in the heart of Silicon Valley and attended Catholic schools from elementary school through High School. My school experience taught me the value of faith, giving back to my community, and respect for tradition and my elders. This has served me well, as I am disciplined and coachable. It is important to me to make a positive contribution and my Junior Hockey experience has allowed me to expand my horizons with new experiences in the hockey world and the wonderful billet families who welcomed me into their homes as well as the communities I joined along the way.
These past three years since my High School graduation have allowed me to mature while I lived my dream of playing Juniors, and has driven me to develop my plan to achieve the academic and athletic goals of excelling in the classroom and on the ice.
I love the game of Ice Hockey. I began skating at the age of 5, and joined my first travel hockey team at the age of 8. As a USA Hockey level 3 referee, I have in-depth knowledge and experience as both a player and a referee.
I played competitively in travel, tier, and Junior level ice hockey from the age of 8. As a Peewee my team won the USA Hockey National Championship. What I have learned is that I am responsible for bringing up the level of play, personally and for the team, by focusing on my training, performance, and execution.
I am a power skating instructor for Cathy's Power Hour in San Jose, CA. http://cathyspowerskating.com/about-us-2/about-the-cph-team/ Cathy Andrade has been my power skating coach since I was 8 years old and I credit a lot of my hockey success to her lessons since skating is the foundation of a good hockey player.
I have been an on-ice official since I was 11 years old. I have been chosen to officiate championship tournaments such as the 2011 Peewee Tier II National Championships and the 2012 Peewee / Bantam Tier I Pacific District Championships. Having been a player, a coach, and on official, I have become a student of the game to know all three roles in hockey.
What makes me different from other contenders is the combination of maturity, level of athletic skill, knowledge, and determination to win and succeed that I possess.
