Joshua Vermette '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello. My name is Josh and I am extremely interested in attending a USA College to play hockey. Hockey is my all-time favourite sport. I have played since the age of 3 years. I have grown up in a hockey environment. Many NHL players have come from my home town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. I am personally related to 2 of them. One of them is Ralph Backstrom, who is my grandmother's first cousin. The second player is Daren Puppa who is my mom's brother and my Uncle. My other Uncle, Derek Puppa played for the University of Huntsville Alabama Chargers and then went on to play some Minor Pro Hockey. My Uncle Daren also played 2 years with the RPI Engineers. I am looking to go the same route as them. I am currently in Grade 12. My Grade Average at the end of Grade 11 was 87%. I am looking to play hockey and get a good education at the same time. I am interested in some form of Engineering program which is what my Uncle's majored in. I am a very hard worker and I strive to be the best at whatever task is given to me. I have won many sports and scholastic awards throughout my life. It doesn't matter to me where I go to school but I am looking for an athletic scholarship. Thank you. Josh Vermette.
