Hello Coaches
My name is Giacomo Gabrielli. I have always been a strong student receiving A’s and a few B’s. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and a 4.2 weighted GPA. My favorite subjects are math, biology, and health. I also enjoy learning languages, I took Spanish 3 as a freshman and Italian 101 at the local community college.
I have loved soccer since before I could talk, actually, my first word was GOAL!!!. I have played soccer since the day I could walk and have loved it ever since. One of my mom’s favorite memories of me is when I was three years old sitting in the back of her car and I said “Mama, soccer is my passion!” I started playing on a soccer team when I was 4 years old with AYSO and then started playing for Santa Barbara Soccer Club when I was in first grade. I joined their MLS Next program when I was 12 and before that, I played for their Developmental Academy. I developed my love of sports and my love for the game from my dad who played semi-professional soccer in Italy and my mom who was a D1 athlete (diver) at the University of California Santa Barbara. When playing I really like to be on the ball and be the one in control of possession. I am left-foot dominant but can play with my right foot very well, as well as being right-handed. I have played other sports like volleyball, flag football, and basketball but I have always loved soccer the most.

Our Academy currently fields teams at the U13 (2008), U14 (2007), and U15 (2006) age groups which compete in the MLS NEXT Youth Development Platform.

Skillset Overview Technical Abilities - 97 / 100 Passing - Creates opportunities for teammates with accurate passes. Rarely over or under hits the ball. Ball Control - Quality first touch in space, and controls the ball under pressure. Tactical Abilities - 95 / 100 Vision - Field vision is very good. Constantly checking over shoulders on and off ball allows for quick decisions. Speed Of Thought - Has good ideas and tries to play fast. This will only help future growth. Physical Abilities - 92 / 100 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Agility - Showed good agility. Good body positioning and footwork helped you change directions quickly. Mental Abilities - 97 / 100 Resistance To Stress - Maintains composure in pressure situations. Great job staying focused on the task at hand. Confidence - Great confidence, didn’t shy away when challenged at camp and played with a sense of urgency. Coach's Comments: Giacomo had a great camp, showcasing an excellent work rate and fantastic creativity in possession. Though he's still too young to enter the recruitment process, he's one to watch for the future. He's a #10 with excellent awareness and the ability to break pressure in a creative manner. The quality of his passes is at a very high standard and his passing range will increase as he matures physically.
