Participating in sports has had a positive impact on my life. The growth and maturity I’ve developed over the years has instilled discipline and motivation for my individual growth on and off the field. As an exceptional student athlete, I have also grown as a leader by becoming a dependable and responsible student. I have consistently made the honor roll each year, and have been selected as team captain for my high school soccer team each year. I have also shown responsibility by being an example of model behavior. I am able to remain calm in tense situations and effectively communicate and resolve issues.
I have always wanted to pursue higher education to further opportunities for my future. With a busy club soccer schedule, I was never able to try other sports until I got to high school. Even after trying track and field, football, and basketball, my dream had always been to compete in soccer at the college level. No longer playing any other sports but soccer, my passion to only play soccer is even stronger. It would be an honor for me to be able to compete at the college level, in the sport that I love to play while earning my degree. Being able to compete at the college level will help me develop as a player and get me closer to my ultimate dream of becoming a professional soccer player.
