My name is Brody Person, and soccer is a big part of my life. I started playing at 5 years old, and from that point forward, I've been on a journey of constant growth and self-improvement, both on and off the field.
Soccer Experience:
· Player Versatility: For many years on my club team, I specialized as a center defender. On my high school team, I started playing in the midfield and as a striker. Playing in different positions not only expanded my understanding of the game but also allowed me to contribute to my team in various roles and adapting to the different dynamics of the game.
· Lifelong Passion: My love for soccer started at a young age and it has remained a passion ever since. My dedication to the sport has instilled in me the values of hard work, discipline, and determination.
· Accolades and Achievements: 2022 Kailua High School Varsity Soccer MVP (Freshman Year); 2022 OIA East 1st Team (Freshman Year); 2018, 2019 ODP Hawaii State Team
· Referee Experience: My understanding of soccer extends beyond playing. I've also taken on the role of a referee, gaining a unique perspective on the game and its rules.
· Volunteer Coach: I'm not just a player; I’ve also helped to coach. I’ve volunteered my time to mentor and guide young, aspiring soccer talents, passing on the skills and values that soccer has taught me throughout my journey.
Academic Achievements:
While soccer is a significant part of my life, I also excel in academics:
· Academic Excellence: I maintain a 4.0 GPA, a testament to my dedication, time management, and commitment to academic success.
· Honors and AP Classes: I challenge myself with honors and Advanced Placement (AP) classes, constantly seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and excel in demanding academic environments.
· National Honor Society: My academic achievements have earned me a place in the National Honor Society, highlighting my dedication to scholarship, leadership, and community service.
Overcoming Adversity:
My journey has also had challenges. In the past year, I had injuries that temporarily took me away from the field. During this time, I dedicated myself to rehabilitation and strength training. With my goal not just to return to the game but to emerge even stronger. It's been a very humbling experience, reminding me of the importance of resilience and determination.
I consider myself a well-rounded person that values dedication and excellence whether on the field or in the classroom. My hope is that it will serve as a solid foundation for my future in college and beyond.
