Hello,
My name is Logan Barry Russell. I was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas and now in boarding school at the McCallie school in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I started playing soccer at fives years old just so my parents could get me out the house. The sport quickly began to grow on me. Now at the age of sixteen I have represented my country on the international stage with the Bahamas U15 and U17 national teams.
Playing college soccer is a goal that I have had for a very long time. I want to use soccer as a tool to get me into college and get a great education. Also college soccer would dramatically increase my chances of getting called up to the Bahamas national senior team.
The soccer program at my high school is a very fast growing program. During the 2014-2015 school year (my freshman year) I started at right back for 17 of 18 games played in our season. Missing only one game due to family matters. The team finished the regular season undefeated and went all the way to semifinals of the state tournament. As far as training the McCallie school has an excellent weight lifting program for varsity athletes during their off season that I take full advantage of. My current 40 yard time is 4.99 and my back squat max is 225 pounds. As well as lifting I also play for a club team, and do individual technical work during the off season.
When it comes to the division of soccer that I would like to play I'm not very picky. I'd love to play for a D1 school but D2 and D3 schools are defiantly not out of the picture. I'm more worried about how the academic support is and the fit of the school is for me because I' m a student-athlete and student comes first.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
Sincerely,
Logan Russell
