I have been playing tennis since I was in 5th grade. I fell in love with the sport after watching a coach do cool and fascinating trick shots. At 14 I started to take tennis seriously and began to play more and compete in tournaments. This is when I realized I wanted to make tennis a life long sport. I realized how much I love tennis as a sport, how much I love to play, and enjoy competing. When I found out most colleges had tennis as a sport, I made it my goal to be recruited to a four year university and made it my mission along with being recruited to be contributing part of a winning team. Being part of a team is also important to me. If I see a teammate looking down or sad, I make it a point try to pick them up. This is my attitude not just for tennis but for many things in life. I feel it is critical to cheer on my team and create a positive atmosphere where we can have fun pushing each other towards improvement and being a well-rounded team. People tell me I lead with confidence and integrity. I’m open to try something new or listen to what others have to say. I take part in school theater productions, being a key person on technical and prop teams. The teachers put a lot of trust and faith in me to help lead and teach my fellow tech students. Typically, I serve as second in command and can take over whenever the manager is away. The teachers and directors always have the confidence knowing that I will keep things running smoothly. I enjoy extracurricular activities but always put my academics first. In order to stay on the team, you must keep a certain GPA, so I work hard in my classes to stay well above that limit so I can continue to play the sport and compete in the sport I love. Competitive tennis serves as an outlet for me and is something that plays a role in my health and success and I want those benefit’s to follow me throughout college studies and into life.
