I have been a two sport athlete my whole middle and high school career. I was a wrestler who ran track for my wrestling endurance. I came in 2nd in the city for my weight class in the 8th grade and was undefeated my freshman year in high school. All things changed during Covid. Multiple seasons for the next two years of my sports were cancelled. I continued to run for conditioning for wrestling. A running watch changed everything last spring when I was able to truly understand pacing and time. I was determined to make States for the 1600 my Junior year and dropped 20 seconds to reach my goals. This summer I have been running 40-50 miles a week on average as I know with my grit and determination I will work to a 16:30 5K, 4:20 mile, and 1:57 800. My intense resolution is already starting to show as I dropped 1:24 already off my 5K time in our first race of the season. I will continue to PR as running for a collegiate team is my passion. I know you will have to take a chance on me but I will achieve my goals while at the same time continuing to mentor younger runners on my team and push them to achieve their personal best.
