Trenton Toma '21 Recruiting Profile

I have been involved with water polo and swimming for most of my life. My father played in high school and college and my older sister played in high school.  In the beginning I lacked the confidence in myself to be a scorer and was afraid to miss my shots.  My dad used to always tell me the famous Wayne Gretzky quote “ you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” With the help of my teammates and coaches I have become confident in my scoring ability. I have always been a good defender and now I am working on my 2 meter defense so I can be a great all around teammate.

My club teams over the years have won many different tournaments but the highlight of my career so far is winning the CIF Championship and scoring 2 goals in the championship game my freshman year. We had a great team and our coach pushed us harder than we have ever been before, but we never gave up.  I learned that my body could do more than I think it can and with hard work anything is possible. I try to use what I learned in everything I do from sports to academics. I know with my work ethic I will be a great addition to any team.
