Personal Statement

I have been an avid softball player since I was seven (7) years old and my goal is to play softball at the collegiate level, while also earning a pre-med degree in Biology or Biochemistry to ultimately become a medical examiner.  I want to become a medical examiner because I love anatomy and physiology and would like to assist with investigating the cause of death or circumstances of a persons death.

I am an aggressive competitor because softball is my passion.  I fully dedicate myself to the game and my team by providing a positive attitude and leadership.  As a center fielder, I have the ability to read a ball off the bat, coupled with my speed, gets me to the ball quick.  I also have the ability to avoid tags with jump and hook slides.  I feel that I am an offensive and defensive threat every time I step onto the field.  My combination of speed and athleticism makes me a great candidate for your softball program.

Overall, I have such determination to be the best on the field and in the classroom.

  • Softball Factory Christmas Camp and Tournament
  • 12/27/16 to 12/30/16
  • 2/27/2016 - Softball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament (Evaluation by Coach Lea Ann Jarvis) Alexus is a 2018 outfielder that returns to the softball factory to attend the Christmas camp and tournament. Defensively, Alexus is quick with her footwork and has good range in all directions. She is athletics in her pre-pitch and present her glove to produce soft hands. Alexus reacts well off the bat and pre positions herself depending on what pitch is thrown. She has speed and gets to the ball quick in the gaps by tanking great angles. Alexus has a quick exchange to throw and is accurate and on-line with all of her throws. Offensively, Alexus is square in her setup and takes a short, soft stride to contact. She stays balanced throughout her swing and works well to opposite field. By focusing more on engaging her lower half, Alexus will gain strength and power at the plate. Alexus also takes aggressive leads on the bases and is always looking to take the extra base. Overall, Alexus is a team leader that has a great attitude and hustles at all times. She displays her love for the game on and off the field and will be a great asset to any team she’s apart of.

  • Under Armour Softball Factory - National Tryout
  • 7/26/16 to 7/26/16
  • Evaluated by Coach Lea Ann Jarvis and her team for an unbiased opinion. I have been informed that I showed a lot of potential and promise to play at the collegiate level! My athletic measurables showed that my 20 yard dash was 3.02 seconds (above average of a varsity high school player), my time from Home to First was 3.75 seconds (above average of a varsity high school player) and my raw velocity was 50 mph. In the outfield, I showed that I have quick feet, good angles on the ball, good first step, good drop step and I move right to left very well. In addition, I have been informed that my hitting was the best part of my game! I have a good first step, am aggressive at the plate and the second part of my swing has hard impact. Having such a good showing, I have been invited to the Under Armour National Training event in Vero Beach, FL at the Spring Training Home of the Los Angeles Dodgers!
