Personal Statement

Softball has been a constant in my life through all of the trials and the tough times. No matter what is going on in my life outside of the sport, I can always count on being able to go to practice each and every day and compete at a sport that I love. I want to play in college to keep that sense of consistency in my life during a very transitional time, that being going to college. I love the sport and I love the relationships that it creates, but most of all, I love to compete. Competition is a huge part of who I am as a person, both on the field and in the classroom. I attend a pretty strong academic high school, and competing in all of those classes is something I strive to do and quite frankly, succeed at. Ever since freshman year, I have taken very rigorous courses, ranging from AP to dual enrollment courses. I excel in every aspect of the classroom, and I take pride in my work. Athletically, I have grown so much as a player over the past two years. Being on Varsity as a freshman really opened my eyes to the high level that this sport can be played at, and from then on I worked to be able to compete at that high of a level, with success in both my freshman and sophomore seasons in the sport. In the summer, my travel team competes at a very high level, placing in highly competitive tournaments and winning our state tournament 2 of the last 3 years. My competitive drive on the field and the fact that I am always working to better the people around me makes me a team player and a natural leader in any situation.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
