Ariana Percivale '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ariana Percivale. I currently attend Piscataway High School and I graduate in 2019. My athletic goal is to make varsity all four years of high school, considering I have 6 years of experience playing softball for a club team and 4 playing for school. I made varsity as a freshman and I was the starting catcher. For travel, I play on Top Gun 18u Gold as a catcher and a 2nd baseman. Although catching is my primary position, I can be used as a utility player. As I developed into a more successful player, for the past four years I have attended various clinics and received a substantial amount of personal training. My current personal trainer is Lauren Atlas at Zoned Sports in Bridgewater. With Top Gun, I train year round with indoor practices as well as workout sessions. In addition to my athletic career, I have been a dancer for 11 years. Out of those 11 years, I competed on a national level for 6 of them. Being a dancer has increased my flexibility and agility to help with the game of softball.

I recently finished 9th grade with a 3.9 GPA and a weighted GPA of 4.77. I am interested in the science fields, however I am unsure what I would like to major in yet. This year, I took an AP class in history, as well as honors in math, science and English. Next year, I will be taking all honors classes as well. I plan to work very hard next year to increase my GPA. I also am a Girl Scout and have been for the past 10 years. I completed two great awards- the Bronze and Silver award with Girl Scouts. I am beginning the process of my Gold award, the highest award a Girl Scout is able to achieve. I've put in many hours of volunteering like spending time at the senior home as well as being an aide at the Piscataway Summer Camp. I am currently volunteering 3 days a week for 6 hours a day with the preschoolers.

My aspirations are to play competitive softball with a group of girls that I can be myself around. No matter the division, I want to play softball for a coach willing to help make me a better player as well as a person. Softball aside, I would like to attend a college that will suit my educational needs and fit my major once I make a solid decision. In a college, I'm hoping to find a place where I feel safe and comfortable in the area as well as the people around me.
