Megan Zaccario '16 Recruiting Profile

I played various sports over the years, including softball, basketball, soccer and volleyball. However, my passion is for the game of softball.   I love the team bonding and respect between the players and coaches.  I started pitching in the sixth grade for fun on my recreation team.  Soon after, I began pitching lessons and became hooked. I am hard working and focused.  I constantly strive to improve!

I earned the starting pitching spot on my varsity high school team as a freshman. I gained the trust of my team; I always said, “I know my team had my back and I had theirs”.  As I enter my sophomore year for both high school and club softball seasons, my goals as a pitcher include: (1) consistently throwing my fastball at 59/60 mph; (2) mixing all off-speed pitches and corners; (3) increased reaction from the mound defensively.   As a batter, my goals include: (1) become a threat on all sides of the field;  (2) improve bunting for either a sacrifice or hit.  Overall, my goals also embrace becoming a leader and better player whom both the team and coaches will rely on everyday!

I aspire to attend a college where I can excel both academically and athletically.  I value personal relationships and look forward to excelling on a team, which has strong bonds and values amongst the coaches and players. I will continue to work hard in both the classroom and on the field over the next few years to help fulfill this dream!
