Alexandra Akins '28 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alexandra but my friends call me Alex. I live in Austin, TX. I play select ball for Bombers Gold LS CTX 16U. I am a sophomore at Hyde Park High School, a high honors student, and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. As a freshman I was a varsity starter at P and SS and helped Hyde Park win the 2025 TAPPS Division II District 2 State Championship. I was selected to the 2025 USA Softball All-American 14U team. Honored to have been selected to play in the USA All American. I was also named to the 2025 TCS Colorado Sparklers 16U All Tournammet 2nd Team.  Austin Sports Journal 2025 All-Austin Metro Softball Awards as the Rising Star (Top Newcomer)I love the mental aspects of softball and out thinking opponents as much as the physical challenges it presents. I put in work everyday to understand and get better at all of the details and skills it takes to truly play this game at the highest level. I take pride in being a teammate the rest of the team can rely on and get strength and confidence from as well as being able to lean on them when I need to. I have 4 dogs and 3 cats and love my animals as much as I love softball. I plan to go to veterinary school after I am done playing softball.
