Hello Coaches,
My name is Ricquel Phillips and I play basketball. When I first started playing basketball my mind was already set to be the very best. Therefore, I put in extra time before and after season to improve my game. I would ask my coach how to do a 'step back' without traveling, because I would get called for traveling when I stepped back to shoot. Over the time, my game has improved to the point where my coach said to the team, "how does a small guard get more rebounds than the bigs". However, I did have bad games where I didn't make any points and just had multiple assistants blocks, and rebounds. I did not let the lack of points effect my next game. I'm different from other players, because some players would be rude, and say disrespectful things to their teammates when they had a bad game. For example, I remember one teammate that would always talk down to everyone. So, when I witnessed this, I would go over to the teammate that just had her fealing hurts and say, " keep your head up and don't let those comments get in your head. We all need improvment". I will bring your team positive vibes, good attitude, leadership, and I have good grades. You would not have to worry about me do my part and taking care of my busniess.
