2020 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I love playing different sports but my passion lies with basketball. I started playing in the 4th grade and the excitement I felt on the court then has only grown greater through the years. I love to listen, learn, and lead. I listen to my coaches and teammates to gain knowledge and learn what they want and what I have to give, while displaying leadership on the team. I see my other sports as opportunities to strengthen the skills I use in basketball. I run faster by competing in track, I have flexibility through dance and karate, and I practice jumping (for rebounds) through volleyball.
Academics are more important than sports, so as a student athlete I will work as hard in my classes as I do on the court. Off the court I like to encourage my teammates to talk to one another and build good team chemistry, and on the court I am known for encouraging and congratulating my teammates. My goal throughout high school is to increase my shot accuracy and better my ball handling skills. I am excited to start building relationships with post high school programs and to build an even stronger relationship with the sport.
