My name is Anna Newman. I was three years old when I played my first soccer game and since that day I have been in love with sports. Sports have become a major part of my life, as well as who I am, ever since that day. When I was seven I joined my first basketball team and I realized that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Basketball is an amazing game with such a fast pace that I don't know how you couldn't love it, but for me it's become something much greater. Basketball has taught me so many things in life such as pushing me to become the best version of myself, as well as, teaching me to want the best for everyone around me and to help them achieve their goals. When you become a part of a team you become family. Often times seeing my teammate's struggles is much harder than my own struggles and seeing my teammate's success is much more rewarding than my own. Basketball has made me into a much better person and has helped me to understand the value of my family as well as extended family on and off the court. Basketball has taught me to push myself to be the best person, teammate, and athlete that I can be. I am honestly so grateful for the gift of basketball.
I am confident that I would be a great choice for your team because I put everything I have into basketball. I go into practice every day with two things in mind: how can I improve and how can I help my teammates improve? I guarantee that every day I will work to become the best player that I can be. My goals for college basketball are very simple, I just want to continue playing the game I have come to love so much. I am very excited to play basketball at the next level. In addition, basketball has taught me how to become a good student on the court and in the classroom. I have earned an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and while taking mostly honors courses. During the next three years I will continue to strive to maintain my grade point average while taking honors and AP courses.
I hope you can tell how much I truly love the game and I hope you consider me to be a part of your program. I am excited about future opportunities and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
