Caitin Cianci '27 Recruiting Profile

I am a lockdown defender.  You can put me on the other team's best player and I will face-guard her and do my best to shut her down.  

My goal is to be a leader on and off the court in whatever I decide to do in life.  I do not know yet what career path I will choose but I take logic and debate at my school and I like to debate other students with evidence, so perhaps I may become a lawyer.    I will try and summarize my core values and what I bring to the table below.

I am not afraid of bigger, faster, or more experienced players.  I like being challenged. 

I believe leadership is best displayed by actions and that actions speak louder than words.  I want my positive actions and words to align on and off the court.  One day, I believe what I have learned on the basketball court will carry over in my work or field of study.

I believe in sharing the ball with my teammates because I think a team is only as good as its least experienced player.  I work hard and believe that mental toughness is very important to any team sport, especially basketball.  I do believe I bring mental toughness, grit, and defensive lockdown ability to a team.  While I am only 5'4'' at the present time, I will play like I am 6 ft tall and will out-hustle other players on the court.  

Many times, in school ball and AAU, I will guard the other team's best scorer and be assigned the role of shutting that player down, which I embrace.

I presently play the point guard position but I can also post up and like to drive and attack the rim.  I like rebounding and being physical.  When my offense is not going great or I am having difficulty scoring, I will focus on defense more and try to create turnovers and be disruptive on defense.
