Maria Corella '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9"Junior point-guard,shooting-guard,and small-foward from Pinewood Preparatory School located in Summerville,SC. I have played 4 years of AAU and YBOA basketball with the Carolina Cavaliers, Carolina Thunder, and last year, my sophomore year, I have joined a new AAU program with the Lowcountry Ballers Elite Team.This year as a Junior on Pinewood's varsity basketball team I contributed offensively and defensively, including a game high 22 points and was the proud recipient of the Varsity Team Offensive Player of the Year Award, SCISA MVP State Tournament, SCISA Player of the Year,SCISA All Region and Conference, SCISA 3A All-Star Team Selection,and High School Sports Report SCISA 3A Statewide Player of the Year during the 2011-12 season. I started the recuiting process relatively early, and I am extremely dedicated to basketball and would love to play at the next level. I am open to all opportunities from colleges and universities of all divisions. I am searching for a college where I will be able to obtain a degree in pre-health and I intend to continue on to dental school. Although I live in South Carolina, I am open to exploring colleges and universities up north. I am interested in attending a highly competitive school that will challenge me mentally as well as provide an opportunity to excel in basketball. I want to choose a school where I can make a difference.
