As the daughter of a coach, I have been surrounded by sports for my entire life. Watching the many different sports that my family was very involved in lead me to start playing basketball from a very young age. I have loved the game of basketball since my very first practice, and it has been a main focus of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of my favorite memories were made while watching college and WNBA teams play at some of the highest levels of basketball as possible. Basketball has allowed me to meet people and learn new things that I would not have otherwise, and I want to continue to use basketball to make a positive impact in my life.
As I seek to play basketball at the next level, I have many strengths as a player. Coaches have always told me that I have a high basketball IQ and understand and execute the game well. I strive to be a leader on and off the court in my role as captain of my high school basketball team. On the court, I am a strong defensive presence and I help lead my team when communicating on offense and defense. I led my team in blocks and rebounds in my freshman year on both my high school and travel basketball team. With no sophomore season due to COVID, I look forward to updating my stats in my junior year. I work hard to accomplish my goals and spend dedicated time on the court and in the weight room.
Although basketball is extremely important to me, receiving a quality education is most important. I place a high priority on my academics and have successfully managed a balance between athletics and academics. I am looking for a program that emphasizes character and integrity with a focus to prepare students to make an impact in society after graduation.
