Gianna Medica '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a determined, goal-oriented and compassionate student-athlete.  I have played club volleyball, court and beach , winning 3rd place Nationally in Court 16s and 1st place in Colorado for RMR Beach U 14 & U16 age group. I also hold the all-time high school squatting record at 300lbs at Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colorado.  In addition to playing golf in some tournaments including Jr PGA, I was on the Junior Varsity High school Freshman year and Varsity Junior Year.  

    My family moved to California a year and a half ago and  this huge transition allowed me to learn more about myself as I was able to define my long term goals amidst the adversity.  Even though I made Varsity Volleyball 2018 on a CIF winning team Sophomore year, I felt a strong draw to golf after the season was over.  Making Varsity golf this year was such a great accomplishment for me. I have already decreased my golf score from 103 a year ago to an average of 79.  I believe that by working with a Strength & Conditioning Coach and a Swing Coach, I have and continue to reach my short term goals.  In a short period of time, I have accomplished all of this plus I was recently inducted into the National Honor Society at Santa Margarita Catholic High School where I am also peer leader, student ambassador, and peer tutor. I am an eLeader for the LPGA sponsored, GirlsGolf, sharing my love for the game with young girls.   I know I have found my passion in leading the world with golf and a future in business.  I am certain that I can transfer my leadership skills, tenacity and goal-oriented characteristics to my next chapter in life, playing golf in college.  My scores have decreased by twenty strokes in a year! I am so excited to see what this year brings !
