Personal Statement

My goal is to play golf at the collegiate level at a good academic school. I work hard in school and golf so that I am always putting in my best effort and challenging myself. I take AP classes and take part in many clubs at my high school. My junior golf journey began 3 years ago and I have learned so much already. Patience is important with golf on and off the course because of how easily one shot can be frustrating while the next is perfect. I became more mentally tough over these past 3 years by playing lots of tournaments and learning from them. My strength is being mentally strong after a not so great shot. I am currently working hard on improving my golf game to lower my scores. I have had 15 rounds of golf with scores in the 70’s during tournaments I have played over the last year. I am ready to keep improving!

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • CT Junior PGA Championship
  • 6/27/23 to 6/28/23
  • I shot 77 (+5) - 76 (+4) for the event. I struggled with chipping on day 1 along with some stray tee shots that cost me. But I managed to stay patient. On day 2 it felt like I started where I left off with poor play from day 1 but I again took a step back and kept patient. So my front nine score was +4, but on the back nine I was able to make 2 birdies to have an even par back nine! I am proud of the resilience I had on day 2!
  • Camp/Event
  • US Kids Teen Series Shawnee on the Delaware
  • 5/27/23 to 5/28/23
  • While this event was played from a yardage on the shorter side (5600 yds), it was great to continue putting my swing under pressure. I shot 74 (+2) on day 1. I had consistent ball striking and hit great drives. Just didn’t make some putts. On day 2 I shot 70 (-2) which was a new personal best. I made some key putts to get below par!
  • Camp/Event
  • US Challenge Cup Computer Merchant Cup
  • 5/06/23 to 5/07/23
  • I shot 77(+7) - 74(+4) for the tournament. On Day 1 I missed some key putts and had a few drives offline but overall I felt that I played better than my score. On day 2 I had the same feeling that I played better than my score because I had 3 three putts so really if I could have putt well I could have been +1. I am proud of the confidence I gained off the tee with my driver because it helped me play well!
  • Camp/Event
  • PKBGT Mid-Atlantic Girls Championship
  • 4/15/23 to 4/16/23
  • I shot 76(+4) - 80(+8) for the event. On day 1 I played great golf and simply hit a few bad chips and putts. On the second day I struggled more with my ball striking and left some shots on the course that I shouldn’t have. I did improve my driving off the tee with great length, accuracy, and confidence.
  • Camp/Event
  • PKBGT Coastal Carolina Classic
  • 4/01/23 to 4/02/23
  • I shot 81 (+9) - 82 (+10) for the event. I struggled a lot with my putting both days since I wasn’t able to putt on real greens over the winter. I also had not been in a tournament atmosphere in a while so it was a bit of a reset.
  • Camp/Event
  • First Tee Miami - Doral Jr Classic
  • 12/21/22 to 12/23/22
  • The first day I shot 90 (+18) and it was a shock wave through my system. My game was not ready to go from simulators to the course. But I recognized my mistakes and was able to stay calm and play through the tournament. I shot 85 (+13) on the second day which I am not proud of but I am proud of myself for not giving up even when I felt like the game was against me.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT National Championship
  • 12/03/22 to 12/04/22
  • I shot 84 (+12) - 76 (+4). On day 1 had a really tough time adjusting to Florida greens and executing my short game technique. I struggled mostly with my putting. After day 1 I headed to the practice putting green and worked on speed and distance. I had a significantly better day on day 2 because of it! I made a lot more important putts. I was +1 through 15 but unfortunately, I had three swings get away from me on the last three holes so I finished +4. But to shoot the round that I did after day one was great.
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT Orlando Fall Junior Open
  • 10/29/22 to 10/30/22
  • I shot 76 (+3) - 79 (+6) for a two day total of (+9). I played pretty well. I just left some strokes on the course that I shouldn’t have like a few putts, chips, and approach shots.
  • Camp/Event
  • Nutmeg Junior Championship
  • 10/08/22 to 10/09/22
  • I shot 76 (+6) - 83 (+13) at the event. It was played from 5900 yds and the rating was about 74. I played pretty well on day 1. On day 2 I struggled with my driver and putting. I am taking this as a learning experience and I will practice to get better.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Challenge Cup Granite State Junior Classic
  • 9/17/22 to 9/18/22
  • I shot 78 - 73. These scores were good for me after transitioning back into my school year. It showed me that the work I put in after school has made me a better player and that I can put my best on the course while putting my best in the classroom. I left some shots on the course but I had 6 birdies which was great. Overall I was happy with this result. I got a new PR (+1) 73!
  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT Hartford Summer Junior Open
  • 8/20/22 to 8/21/22
  • I shot 83 - 74. On day 1 it felt like I carried too much pressure from having a previous tournament not go so great. I feel like I brought that same golf game and I wasn’t playing my best. The next day I tried to reset as much as I could and I benefited. This was a tournament showing my resilience.
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA Randy Wise Junior Open
  • 8/16/22 to 8/18/22
  • I shot 84 - 85. This tournament was a tough time with my game. It didn’t feels it’s best and I lost shots all over the course. I wasn’t affected mentally by the competition level which was good. I just simply couldn’t play good golf!
  • Camp/Event
  • PKBGT Tour Championship
  • 8/12/22 to 8/14/22
  • Cut line after round 2.
  • Camp/Event
  • NJ Junior PGA Championship
  • 8/01/22 to 8/03/22
  • I shot 76 - 74 - 78 (+12). I am very proud of how I played! I got my PR which was (+2) for 18.
  • Camp/Event
  • 18 Hole Ryan Lee Memorial Junior Open
  • 7/28/22 to 7/28/22
  • Had a tough one day event and shot 85 (+13). I lost my shots in the short game and needed to better prepare my routine for slower greens!
  • Camp/Event
  • Lansdowne Resort Girls Classic
  • 7/25/22 to 7/26/22
  • I shot 76 both days for a two day total of (+8). I am proud of this score because it was at a difficult course. All parts of my game felt at its best! I learned that I am capable of so much more!
  • Camp/Event
  • New Jersey Regional - Notah Begay
  • 7/20/22 to 7/21/22
  • I shot 82 (+10) on day 1 and 84 (+12) on day 2 for a two day total of (+22). I had a tough two days at this event because my long game and short game were inconsistent during my two rounds. It was frustrating to have these rounds become a part of who I am but I will continue to grind and get better!
  • Camp/Event
  • 1st Connecticut Girls Junior Amateur
  • 7/11/22 to 7/12/22
  • I shot 82 - 80 at this event. I was mostly proud of how I played. I need to work on my short game for when I miss greens!
  • Camp/Event
  • CT Woman’s Amateur
  • 7/06/22 to 7/07/22
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA Junior at Chicopee Presented by John D. Mineck Foundation
  • 7/06/22 to 7/08/22
  • I shot 79 (+8) for round 1 and 78 (+7) for round 2. I am proud of how I played for my first ever AJGA tournament (non preview). I maintained my focus entirely to give my best on every hole. I missed the cut line for round 3 by only 2 strokes. I learned that I need to improve my chipping process around the green.
  • Camp/Event
  • CT Junior PGA Championship
  • 6/28/22 to 6/29/22
  • I shot 80 - 85. I finished T15 out of 29 girls. I learned from this tournament that I need to work on finishing strong. Some holes got me in the last 4 on both days that could have been better.
  • Camp/Event
  • Clemson Golf Summer Camp
  • 6/11/22 to 6/15/22
  • Camp/Event
  • CT High School State Open
  • 6/11/22 to 6/11/22
  • I qualified for this event by maintaining a 2.85 stroke differential for the regular season which is within the 8 stroke differential cut off. I shot 82 to come in fifth out of 19 girls.
