Kailey Bertram '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kailey Bertram and I am a dedicated golfer from Deerfield, Illinois, where I will graduate in the 2019 class. I have earned a spot on the Deerfield High School varsity team in my three years of being in high school, and I have seen major growth in my game due to the extra work I have put in. My commitment to the game helped me finish in first place at conference and qualify as an individual in state sectionals my junior year. My coaches unanimously chose me for all-conference this year as I became a strong team leader and showed progress from being able to cut my game down from 88 to 76 strokes by the end of the season. Outside of school, I have played in IJGA matches and tournaments for two years and this past summer I participated in my first MAJGT event. I am looking for a school that can challenge my abilities and is most selective academically. Currently, I have a 3.9 unweighted and a 4.4 weighted GPA, along with a 32 ACT score. I am looking for a college that reflects my capabilities as a student, and also has an outstanding academic reputation in the business field. I am looking for the right balance between the classroom and golf course, and feel that my best fit would be at the most competitive DIII level as I could focus on school while improving my golf game and creating an impact on the team. However, I am also open to DI opportunities. I am interested in colleges on either the West or East Coast, and I am particularly looking at California or New York. Ideally, I would love a medium to large size school with a college town, or in an urban area. I am currently interested in the business realm, mainly marketing, but I would also love to pursue a minor in fashion design. I am dedicated, passionate, focused, and driven with golf and my education, and I am excited to continue playing the sport I love at the collegiate level.
