Personal Statement

Hi Coaches! My name is Kayla Ryan and I am a junior at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois. I come from a family of 6. I have 3 sibblings: one older sister, Courtney, one older brother, Kyle, and a twin brother, Cody. As far as golf goes, I am not your typical girl. I haven't had a club in my hands since I was six; I actually didn't even start off as a lefty. I started off as a righty, and one day I decided to step on the other side of the ball and it seems to be working out for me. I started golf the summer going into freshman year and I have been on my Varsity team ever since. I love being part of a team and knowing that although this is an individual sport, we are a team. I am a very hard worker when it comes to my golf game. Although I put a lot of my time into golf, I find time to manage between school and a part-time job. I know that as a student-athlete school always comes first. I work hard to keep my grades up and my scores low. I know that without the support of my family and team, I wouldn't be where I am today!
