I've been playing golf since I was five years old. I also have played multiple sports my whole life. In the 7th grade, I was on the varsity golf team, was playing number one on the tennis team, and was the 6th man for the high school basketball team. In 8th grade, I had to make a decision with my team so I decided to only play two sports so I chose the two I love most golf and basketball. In my 8th grade year, our high school golf team won the region title for the first time in school history and we finished in a tie for 7th place at the state tournament. In my 9th grade year, our team lost by one stroke and finished up as the region runner up but I qualified for the state tournament and finished 5th place in the region. I ended up making the cut after the first day of the tournament and was able to compete both days of the state tournament. In my 10th grade year, I again finished 5th in the region but a semi state was added and I shot a 78 and finished in 6th place. Then, I ended up finishing 47th overall at the final round of the Kentucky state golf tournament. Also, our basketball team won the region title and made it to the elite 8 of the state tournament. My junior year I shot a 73 in the region to win the KY HIgh School 5th Region Tournament. I have advanced to the final round of the KY High School State Tournament and finished tied for 22nd overall at the final round of the Kentucky state golf tournament.
I believe in working hard and doing my best in whatever I do whether that be in sports or academics. I'm a committed Christian so I get along with others and most importantly I try to represent him in everything I do. I know as a college athlete just like being a high school athlete in my small town, there are many younger kids that look up to athletes and I want to be a good role model to as many of them as possible.
In college, I would love to continue my love for sports by playing golf in college. I currently have multiple Division 1 coaches in basketball and I would love the same opportunities in golf. With my busy summer AAU basketball schedule, I just do not have time to play in some of the junior tournaments that would showcase my skills in golf. Off the tee, I hit the ball between 245-270 yards and from 155 yards out, I use my 8 iron. With my size, athletic ability, work ethic and strength, I will be a huge asset to any college golf program.
