Minna Liang '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches, my name is Minna Liang and I am a sophomore at Holmdel High School in New Jersey. I have been playing golf for three and a half years. I fell in love with the sport during COVID-19 summer, and I started playing just for fun. However, I was lucky to meet my coach, Coach Ken Williams, who showed me that I have the potential to play at the highest level of golf, helped me find my passion for golf, and always encouraged me to improve my game by playing in as many tournaments as possible. So, I started playing in US Kids, NJPGA, and HJGT tournaments starting in the summer of 2021. 

I aspire to play at a high level of college golf because I love the sport and find myself enjoying being part of a sports team as I have played for the HHS Varsity Golf Team for one season and am going into my second. I am a former club softball and tennis player of many years, and through these sports, I built strong athleticism and a sense of team spirit to aid me in golf. I have strong leadership skills and I know how to be part of a community, as I am in five clubs, am president of the Chinese Culture Club, and am Varsity Swim Team manager. Also, I have been exposed to different cultures and environments as I studied at Shanghai American School for a year, where they encouraged embracing diversity. 

Academically, I am a straight-A student in 3 honors classes and 1 AP class as a freshman, and 4 honors classes and 1 AP class as a sophomore. I love participating in class and working with my peers to maximize my learning experience. I have strong time management skills, as I juggle between golf, clubs, and keeping up in the classroom.
