Personal Statement

I have been playing golf since I was six years old, and it has truly become my passion. Each day that I play this sport I see an opportunity to learn. One bad shot, one bad stroke does not define my game, but presents an opportunity to grow. I do believe that my best golf is ahead of me and I am working my craft daily so one day I can fulfill my dream of participating on a collegiate golf team.  I know that I will be a valuable addition to your team as I am extremely coachable and willing to put in the necessary work to improve. As I mature as an athlete, I am also maturing as a person. I am learning perseverance, determination and self-discipline all in an effort to better my chances of playing collegiate golf.

Off the course, I am fully enjoying my high school experience. Keeping my grades up is important to me, so I am working and studying hard to maintain my GPA.  I also work hard to maintain my athletic ability in tip-top shape.  I have participated on the high school varsity basketball team and have also qualified for nationals as part of the sprint medley relay team in track.  My specialty events are the 200, 400 and 800 meters.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Tournament of Champions
  • 8/24/15 to 8/25/15
  • A little shaky on the front nine with a 46. Came back with a 40 on the back. Shot an 86, and missed the cut. The cutoff was a 79. 9 pars, 6 bogeys, 2 doubles, 1 triple. Short game was the issue today, from 100 yards in and putting I had a hard time. My shots leading up to that were fine, I hit my woods, long irons, and mid irons well. My last tournament of the season was today, now I'm gearing up for my newly appointed role as the captain of my high school boys' varsity team.

  • 8/19/15 to 8/19/15
  • Much better round today!!! Came in first place with an 81. 42 on the front, 39 on the back. I gained a spot in the Tournament of Champions on the 24th of August. Approach shots from 100 yards in were really good, Drivers were really good, and Irons were really good. Putting needed some improvement. I had a couple three putts. Overall I was happy with today's round.
  • Camp/Event
  • Junior Classic
  • 8/10/15 to 8/11/15
  • Rough day. Total of 94 and missed the cut, 53 on the front nine and 41 on the back nine. On the front nine, I was +13 on the last four holes... going 7,6,8,7. However the back nine I bounced back and shot a 41. I was cutting across the ball a lot. That tends to happen when my tempo gets too fast. I regained my focus and came back with a 41 which I was pretty happy with.
  • Camp/Event
  • Metropolitan Junior Golf Tour
  • 7/28/15 to 7/28/15
  • 44 on the front, 44 on the back. 88 for the whole round. 6 pars, 8 bogeys, 4 doubles. 31 putts. Was not getting good contact with the ball today, but putting was okay.
  • Camp/Event
  • Metropolitan Junior Golf Tour
  • 7/28/15 to 7/28/15
  • Par 70 course, 36 front; 34 back. +7 on the front; -1 on the back. Total 76. 2 birdies, 9 pars, 6 bogeys, 1 double. Had a hard time with putting, but my long game was strong, along with my approach shots to the green. (100 yards in, and chipping). Driver was great. Overall contact with the ball throughout the round was solid.
  • Camp/Event
  • Metropolitan Junior Golf Tour Pro-Junior
  • 7/22/15 to 7/22/15
  • shot a 76, I did play best ball with two other juniors, and my dad as the pro. But kept my own score just to count what I would have shot by playing with my own true scores. Today was my lowest round for the season! My next tournament is on July 28th
  • Camp/Event
  • Metropolitan Junior Golf Tour New York City Championship
  • 7/21/15 to 7/22/15
  • Tuesday at the Pelham Bay Tournament for the MetPGA located in the Bronx, I shot a 79. Short game was very strong. 31 putts total, and chipped many close shots to the pin in order to save par. I had 11 pars, and 7 bogeys. Some of my drives had put me in some tough lies. All in all, my game mainly consisted of getting up and down with my short game. Unfortunatley, I missed the cut by 1 shot.
  • Camp/Event
  • Metropolitan Junior Golf Tour
  • 7/15/15 to 7/15/15
  • Front: 43(6 over), Back: 37(1 over), Birdies: 1, Pars: 11 Bogeys: 4, Double Bogeys: 2... Much better round during this tournament, The course is a par 73. Short game was strong, and mid-irons were strong. Everything was pretty strong besides driver towards the middle of my round, but i made up for some difficult drives with my approach shots to the green. Total of 32 putts.
