I am going to be a high school senior this year and really hoping to play golf in college. I absolutely love the game of golf and want to go into that career field, whether as a player or on the business side. I am looking for a school that has a strong golf program and facilities to assist with improving my overall game. I am self-motivated and challenge myself continuously to improve in academics, golf, fitness, and as a person overall.
I have been playing golf since I was 5 years old and played my first tournament when I was 7. Since then, I have continued to play tournaments and it has truly become a family affair with my younger sister playing as well. Balance has always been important and my parents never pushed too hard. This is a game that I want to play my whole life and to have a full career in. I understand that my national rankings do not show the full potential that I have as a competitive golfer. I just wanted to play so we played as many tournaments as we could, regardless of course rating or national exposure. I am now much more aware of the importance of rankings and have been more selective with the tournaments that I play. Because of that, you will see my rankings continue to improve as some of the older tournaments drop off.
I am completely aware of the areas where I need to improve as a player. I am a long hitter and will drive the ball farther with a 3 wood than most other girls do with their drivers. My short game has improved dramatically in the last year or so. When I did shoot higher scores, it was due to missing fairways and greens. However, I have since made some equipment changes to reduce shot dispersion. The final piece that I am working on is mental performance with the team at Vision54 and also reading books from Dr. David Cook. I am excited about where my game will go from here and looking forward to upcoming AJGA and other highly competitive tournaments this Fall.
