My name is Sydney D'Avella, and I've been playing competitive golf for 8 years now. My passion for the game started when I purchased my first set of clubs from a garage sale. At night I would go out to the hole I lived on and hit balls until it became too dark to see. As I slowly started to make contact with the ball, I built up the courage to call the pro shop, and schedule myself my first lesson. I worked with my swing coach twice a month for 4 years. I took it upon myself to schedule my lessons and tournaments so I could hopefully, one day cover the cost of college for my parents. Despite the mentally and physically challenging aspects of the game, I fell in love with golf during the process. Today, nearly every aspect of my life revolves around it. I work at South Shore Harbour Country Club, help coach at STPGA Jr. League tournaments, as well as local summer camps. I know how golf has impacted my childhood, and believe the opportunities given through the game are like no other. I help coach to hopefully inspire juniors to pick up the sport and create passion for the upcoming generation of golfers. I am currently a captain on my High School's golf team, and I believe leadership shouldn't be confined to the locker room.
