My aspirations and goals are to have a positive impact in children’s lives through speech pathology or education while holding on to a goalie stick as long as possible.
For the last seven years, I have had good experiences on both club and high school teams. My dream is to play at the collegiate level and see the sport continue to grow. I want to further enhance my lacrosse skills, and demonstrate my discipline and dedication to the sport.
My past experiences have taught me both great stick techniques and leadership skills, but most importantly, cultivated my communication skills. Communication is one of my greatest assets. As a goalie, it's imperative that I am able to communicate to my defense on what I need from them and to be able to provide support and direction to my teammates on things, such as open opponents. Coaches from opposing teams, fans and my own mom in the parking lot, notice my communication skills.
My “can do” attitude started at a young age, but was cemented in my psyche through the teachings of Taekwondo where I earned a black belt in 2017. It taught me perseverance and patience. Those are two characteristics you need in everything you do and have continually helped me in lacrosse. You will never see me give up, throw a stick, or walk off in defeat. Instead, you will see me work twice as hard to fix or make needed adjustments.
I am an appreciative person and I want to give back to my family and the sport. My intention is to wholeheartedly put my best effort forward as a high school and college student to make my supporters proud of me on and off the field. To show my parents gratitude, I want to accomplish my aspirations by training hard and meeting my goal of playing at the college level. For the sport, it will be sharing my love of the sport with young people. I want to get out in the community and show young women what an amazing sport lacrosse is; teach sportsmanship and how to work as a team and grow as an individual in all aspects of life. My hope as a collegiate athlete is to say thank you to my parents and the sport.
I work independently and as a team member. I meet deadlines on or before their due dates. I love playing lacrosse and my aspirations and goals are to play collegiate lacrosse while being one of the first people in my family to attend college. I work hard on and off the field everyday to make this dream a reality.
