Marina Raftis '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Marina Raftis!! I’m a Junior attending Downers Grove South, but I play for Downers Grove North because both of the schools combined the girls lacrosse team. I’ve been playing lacrosse for years (7+) starting with IGLA, then going through Midwest Select Lakeshore, and then combining the with my High school team. I have a good amount of experience under my belt. Even so, I’m still eager to learn and improve my skills wherever I can. I mainly play defense, but I like to be flexible too and I’ve been exploring the Midfield position as well. To keep myself in shape for lacrosse (and just for fun I like to feel strong) I’ve taken up weight lifting and running both as hobbies. I strive to be the best player I can on the field. I try to motivate and support my team as much as I am able, and just be the best version of me over all. I’m really hoping to continue as a lacrosse athlete as I take the next step in my educational journey.
