Collegiate Goals/Aspirations.....
-open to any division school
-looking for STRONG academic programs
-giving back to the community
-being a strong role model for future Student Athletes
-being a TEAM player
-being optimistic and determined whether winning or losing a game
-my team-mates will remain friends after college
Why am I a good Candidate?
I am a good candidate because:
-I volunteer at numerous Charitable Organizations
-I am committed, determined and passionate
-I have great Academics, while being very busy (music and lacrosse)
-I love lacrosse and am in Personal Training/Conditioning to help my game even in off-season
-I have had great coaching
- I am a Graduate of the Youth in Policing Program
What makes me different?
I am different than other candidates because I eat healthy due to my family growing most of our own food. We eat a lot of natural foods (no chemicals). I am in grade eleven, but already have more than the required volunteer hours (40 is mandatory but I have over 200) and I received an Academic Honors Award at the GR 9 Assembly. I will end up graduating with more than the required number of credits, as I will be taking available courses in Accelerated Learning during the Summer. I am very focused in school ( a 3.8 GPA ). I am unique athletically because I have played on both Canadian and United States Lacrosse Teams and have competed with girls and boys teams! I am also an International Student. I am very busy in the off-season. I take private Music Lessons (I play drums, bells & timpani) and recently received my Grade 4 Royal Conservatory Certification along with my Advanced Theory/Rudiments! I play in a band, work out with the All-Ontario Running Coach(a UCLA Grad) and I have a Personal Trainer and Snowboard when I get a chance. I have also played on 'A' and 'B' level Rep. teams. Both of which have won games all season and others which have lost games all season. Although every athlete likes to win, I think losing allows you to see not only where you need to improve as a team/player, but how you will react as a person with character and sportsmanship! I have had the honor of being Team Captain on a Team that lost every single game until Provincials, where we finally won our first two games! We were proud of this accomplishment, as there were a lot of brand new Lacrosse players on this team. One of my favorite phrases is, "Go over, Go under, Go through, but Never Give Up!" I have numerous Recommendation Letters from coaches and teachers and am grateful for the positive things they all said about me. I have attended quite a few Tournaments and Skills Clinics in the USA and Canada. I have also played box lacrosse for two years. In my first year of U15 (2012 Season), our first Field Lacrosse game was played in a blizzard (welcome to Canada!). It was snowing and freezing; one of my team-mates was supposed to go back on, as it was her turn. She refused (due to being cold)! I volunteered to go on for her, even though I had just come off the field and the blanket was looking pretty inviting! I am a team-player. Lacrosse is not always a 'fair-weather" sport , but this was one of those times where you really had to push through the discomfort and focus on the game. My Collegiate goals are to play on a "Team" and to play for a Coach(es) who want to develop character as well as a team, I would also like a school with a roster that allows playing time. My education is important so I am looking for a fairly selective school that offer's at the least a BA/BS.
